ABOUT ME
My name is Anne Elizabeth Kane (nee Sparks).
I was born on 13 June, 1961 at the Queen Victoria Hospital, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
At the time of my birth my Mum and Dad were living at 88 Wellington Street, Longford, Tasmania, Australia.
We lived there until I was 4 years of age, then moved to Tasmania's 2nd capital of Launceston.
I attended Mowbray Heights Primary School, Brooks High School then studied Secretarial Studies for 2 year in 1977.
My first job was with Cromptons Collection Agency as a telephonist/typist.
I then went into the retail industry which I stayed there until I moved out of home at the age of 18.
Moving to Tasmania's capital, Hobart, was a big move for me...away from my mum and dad and out into the big wide world.
I continued in the retail industry in Hobart until moving to Sydney in 1987.
Although living in Richmond (Sydney, NSW) I went back to Launceston to get married to Shaun Pinker.
Married on 20th August, 1988. Shaun was a RAAF Policeman and moved to different bases around Australia every 2 years.
Our moves were from Richmond (Sydney NSW) to Darwin (NT) to Perth (WA) then to Townsville (Qld).
Our first daughter was born on 17th September, 1990 in Darwin (NT) at 12.16am weighing 9 lb 1 oz.
Our second daughter followed 22 months later on 30th July 1992 in Perth (WA) at 2.26am weighing 8 lb 11 1/2 oz.
After 2 years in Perth we were on the road again, across that dusty Nullabor and heading for Townsville.
We lived in Townsville for 2 years where Natalie started her first class at school at the RAAF Base pre-school.
We decided that it was now time to settle down as the girls were coming upon fulltime school and needed stable schooling.
Shaun found employment with the Brisbane Casino and we lived at Carina Heights, Brisbane for the next 3 months before
him being transferred to Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast.
We designed and built a house at Terranora Village (NSW) on the Border of Queensland and NSW in 1996.
Seperation began in 2002 and our marriage ended and was divorced on 21st July 2003.
In the year of 2002 I met a wonderful man from England, Martin Kane.
Martin came to Australia in 2003 and 2004 for 3 weeks holiday each time.
On 17th February, 2005 he came on a 3 month visa and we married on 10th April, 2005 at Frog Rock Beach, Coolangatta, Queensland, Australia.
We continued to live in Tweed Heads, NSW, Australia till July 2006 when we bought our own home at Pacific Pines, Qld.
By this stage I had done 10 years service with Woolworths and taken long service leave.
I completed and passed a course in Aged Care Nursing...Certificate III in Aged Care and began a whole new career.
My first job application I was accepted that day and commenced work at Labrador Gardens Nursing home on 21st Dec 2006.
I am still employed at this facility.
After a lot of gathering things together for Immigration Martin was finally made a permanent residence of Aus in 2007.
He applied and passed his truck Licence and commenced work in the trucking industry.
Going from Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence to Heavy Combination (HC) truck licence. He is still in this industry.
Natalie has a career as a fully qualified Hairdresser here on the Gold Coast.
Ashleigh completed and highly passed her certificate at Aviation Australia in Mechanical Engineering.
She is desperately looking for an apprenticeship in this field.
She was successful in late 2010 in getting through to interview stage with Qantas. She was one of the top 100 of 2000 applicants. She was then selected to have medicals ~ 8 apprenticeships and 16 ppl picked for medicals.
She was then placed on the waiting list.
At the moment she is working at a Glass Factory, making windows and screen doors in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia.
We are very proud of both of them!!
